Director - Business Development, Project & Development Services, Mumbai
This International Women’s Day and every day, we are proud to recognize our inspiring women leaders and allies at JLL.
Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
Professionally, I find Indra Nooyi inspiring for more than one reason. She shattered the glass ceiling for immigrants and women by becoming one of the world’s most powerful corporate executives. Moreover, she also proved that you could remain authentic and firmly rooted while embracing and conquering professional success.
Personally, I feel almost all the women I’ve known are inspiring in some way or the other. Each of them has a unique ability, and it’s only a matter of recognising and appreciating that.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
Inclusion is not optional. It is the most important element in building a culture. In my opinion, one cannot prosper in personal or professional life without inclusion. Accepting each other’s differences and embracing diversity is the only way to have a competitive edge. And that’s the only ethos that can stand the test of time.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
We are fortunate to have a team with many women, and each one of them brings a unique quality that makes us stronger. A woman often forgets what she’s worth and therefore, in my own little way, I always try to remind them of their true value. I advise them to never give up on their dreams and tell them that they have the capabilities of achieving whatever they aspire for. I believe when you look for the best in others and get inspired by them, they start to value and respect you more, and over the years, you become their inspiration.
