Who is a female inspiration/role model to you, and why?
My mother is my biggest inspiration, and no one can take her place in my personal life.
Professionally, Corrine Toh, Account Director Barclays and Cisco, has always been an inspiration for me. A dynamic administrator, she had changed the account health to green, meeting the client’s expectations in a short span. I was proud to be a part of her team. Her presentation, communication skills and quick decision-making was commendable. Corrine was focused and clear on her goals, undeterred and undistracted by male dominance.
During her tenure, we won the best CRM Award twice in a row. She fully supported me to achieve one of those. Although Corrine is not associated with us anymore, she connected with each of her team members during the pandemic to inquire about their and family’s health that shows her humane side.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
It is a platform to accept the challenges within and around us honestly. Once you know the problem, you can always find a solution. This platform is like facing a mirror where you accept challenges and understand your capabilities without underestimating your potential.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
Women in society play an important role, which they do not realise. We can tackle any situation if we first identify the issue, acknowledge our strengths and have a can-do attitude. I am so glad that my company takes inclusion seriously and acts upon it. My humble request to all my female colleagues is to take benefit of this opportunity. So, GO and GRAB IT. I am always available for any support. Simultaneously, I would like to thank all the men who respect and support this forum, especially my seniors, my current Manager Shailesh Singh and former Manager Ayyappan Subramanian, who helped me break the barriers.
