Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
I believe in drawing inspiration from everything around me, for various aspects of life. Lately, one female leader who has inspired my confidence is Radhika Gupta – MD & CEO Edelweiss Asset Management.
Her story is a triumphant celebration of resilience. Initially, struggling with low self-esteem due to a permanently visible deformity, resulting from complications at birth, she later had the honour of becoming so far, the only female head of India’s first domestic hedge fund.
I have made a note and keep reminding myself of what she says: “Celebrate all your perfections. Celebrate all your imperfections. Celebrate everything in the middle. Because when this comes together, this is your own story.”
Why does inclusion matter to you?
Inclusion is important to me, as I strongly believe that people work to their maximum potential and push themselves to grow and achieve more when allowed to be themselves.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
- By giving them a fair opportunity on every project
- By investing time to mentor them
- By encouraging them to think big, take more risks and ensuring that they know they have my back
And above all, I believe, success is as much about confidence as it is about competence—in fact, it’s often more so. Therefore, I constantly focus on instilling confidence in my team to be the best version of themselves.
