Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
Amongst many women in the corporate world, Indra Nooyi is an inspiration and role model to me. She is genuinely a ‘Boss Lady’ who has shown corporate women in India that you can have it all, with the right support system, few sacrifices, and some collateral damage under the water, if you are willing to trade-off. I look up to her and have learned to find my self-expression at work by identifying and pursuing my ambitions and beliefs.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
Inclusion to me is a fair opportunity available to the one with merit.A diverse workplace brings diversity of thoughts, talent and perspective. And each of these challenges the unconscious bias of an organisation to think beyond the regular and deliver to an ever-diverse client base.
Prioritising inclusion helps build an empathetic workplace that supports its employees to bring their whole selves to work. It leads to a happier staff that builds a positive cycle, benefiting all.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
I actively share my journey as a working wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, and sister with everyone. I candidly tell them how unabashedly I seek family and friends' support to reach every milestone in life, both personal and professional. I share with them the mistakes I’ve made and the lessons I learned. I try and be as transparent, vulnerably sharing about my journey, to keep it real, hoping to make a difference in their lives.
