Working with leaders
With operations in over 100 countries, Sanofi is a global leader in the pharmaceuticals space. With the objective to bring operational excellence and achieve growth, JLL helped the Company in consolidating their operations spread across multiple sites.
In a recent development, the world’s fourth largest pharmaceuticals company, Sanofi was looking to consolidate its India operations and shift its base to a single large office. Headquartered in Paris, the company is present in over 100 countries and has about 0.1 million employees working across the world across verticals. India is a key growth region for Sanofi. Hence, the company was working through its multiple offices across localities – a key reason hindering its operational efficiency.
As the Company decided to move into a larger and technologically advanced premise in Powai, Mumbai to achieve the intended business excellence, it appointed JLL to assist them in consolidation. The new facility at the L&T Business Park in Powai, Mumbai is spread across 100,000 sq ft and can house over 650 employees.
Despite tough timelines and regulatory constraints, designing the place as per the client’s requirement needed stringent project management processes in terms of quality, safety checks and reporting, project scheduling and tracking. And our efficient team complied with all project parameters and successfully achieved 100 percent safe man-hours in the project.
Our design experts made sure that Sanofi House becomes the best in class building. And the appreciation of the work executed by JLL staff resulted in getting the LEED Platinum certification in 2009 from the US Green Building Council.
While the Sanofi House project the paved way for us to strengthen our pharmaceutical and life sciences portfolio in India, we were able to capitalise on the experience and lessons learnt during the course of executing. The entire project experience helped us secure more projects in this niche domain. Post successful completion of this project, we are able to add 1.8 million sq ft of pharmaceutical and life science portfolio in the commercial office space alone.
