A highly labour intensive sector, employing more than 49.5 million people, this industry and the migrant workforce have been impacted by the current pandemic situation. Not only has COVID-19 triggered a massive public health crisis, but has also brought along with it an equally challenging economic situation leading to an exodus of workforce thus impacting construction projects. Through this whitepaper, we have tried to assess the impact of COVID-19 on migrant workforce in India, with a focus on the construction workforce.
